Motus has signed a new large contract with Equinor for overhauling of cranes and handling equipment at Snorre A. In 2019, Motus was engaged to do a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) Study on the system. We are pleased that Equinor trusted Motus to execute this complex project, says Ole Kristian Varhaugvik, Sales Director.
The contract with Equinor has an expected duration of about 2 years and an estimated value of NOK 160 million.
- This comprehensive agreement further strengthens the long-term cooperation we have established under the framework agreement for offshore crane maintenance. We look forward to the collaboration and are both proud and humble for the confidence Equinor shows us, says Ole Kristian Varhaugvik, Sales Director at Motus Technology AS.
In addition to the work on the cranes and handling equipment, extensive work will be carried out on four “Riser-net winch systems”.
In 2019, Motus conducted a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study for the project. Main systems and components must be disassembled and shipped ashore for overhaul and full-scale testing before re-installing the equipment. This work will be carried out at Harøya in Møre og Romsdal using IP Huse AS's high-tech machinery and technical expertise.
– Equinor has a high focus on safety and sustainable solutions, and these are expectations we must live up to. The focus now is good interaction between everyone involved on land and the technical diciplines at Snorre A to ensure successful implementation, says Ole Kristian Varhaugvik.
