With effect from July 1, 2022, lager companies are legally required to identify and address human rights violations while demonstrating transparency by publicly reporting on their actions. At Motus, we uphold our own ethical standards and a code of conduct that applies to our employees, business partners, and suppliers. Our code of conduct is rooted in management group and includes provisions for human rights and decent working conditions, which is strongly linked to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
As a company with a significant number of suppliers, we prioritize responsible sourcing practices. We set expectations for our suppliers by having them complete a "supplier self-declaration" checklist, which includes an assessment of human rights-related issues. We also conduct external audits with our suppliers to maintain good, long-term relationships and ensure compliance with our updated guidelines. Our supplier selection process emphasizes high product quality, competitive pricing, reliable delivery, a strong environmental profile, and respect for human rights.
To prevent, reduce, or stop human rights violations, we follow the due diligence process outlined in the OECD's guidance for responsible business conduct. To date, we have risk assessed our suppliers based on the ITUC Global Rights Index, data from OurWorldInData, and Transparency International.
